Research Overview

help me, help you friendships among young people with cancer

Existing research suggests that by strengthening friendships for young people with cancer, we may be able to improve their resilience and wellbeing outcomes. However, there are few resources to support friends of young people with cancer. This project focuses on building the capacity of young people to better support their friends with cancer.

Co-designing single-session interventions for young people with chronic conditions

This project aims to develop a series of very brief, strengths-based interventions to support wellbeing among young people with chronic conditions. The programs will be co-designed in collaboration with young people with chronic conditions from around Australia and piloted to determine their feasibility and acceptability.

It is important to understand which research questions are most meaningful from the perspectives of those with lived experience. In this project, we engaged children and young people with chronic conditions and disabilities, and their family members to identify research priorities for childhood chronic conditions and disability research.
